How to create Test GP folder for tetsing dexterity changes.

 1. Find location of your dynamics GP folder, copy whole folder as shown in below picture.

 

 2. Rename the folder GP2018-Copy  as GP2018Test. Open The folder and sort files by Type. locate .SET fields, i.e DYNAMICS.SET and DYNUTILS.SET

 

 

 

3. Open both files one by one and the update the path from 

:C:Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Dynamics/GP2018/ 

to

:C:Program Files (x86)/Microsoft Dynamics/GP2018Test/

save and close.

 

 

Locate Dynamics.Application file and right click and select option create shortcut, create shortcut on desktop and rename it to GPtest.

 

Open the properties and in Target field add  Dynamics.set at the end of t he path, Apply and close. Now double click on GPtest icon and login to your test company.

 For rest of the testing add chunk file in this folder. The step for testing where .dic files need to be delete ,now you can safely delete from this test folder and test your changes.
