If I have chunks that have been developed by my previous developers and and I need them to work on the next GP version, what exactly needs to be done to fit in the new version?
A very common question and asked very frequently.
Usually clients are handed with chunk and extracted file of code, but it's not the source code.
If the resources are *3rd party forms, windows, menus or table we can upgrade them without source code as these are 3rd party resources. Even we can do cosmetic changes add/remove fields on those form and through coding can also do some initial functionality.
But if Dynamics GP forms are altered/customized then we can not upgrade it without source code and left with only option of redoing all the work from the beginning.
If you have old customization which you want to upgrade and don't have the source code, I am available for rework. I have done 3 to 4 similar kind of upgrade and even we add some fix and improvement to the functionality.
*By third party I don't mean products or ISVs developed by other vendor for Dynamics GP.
