Manufacturing Traveler Report with Components - Component Sort Order

 

Requirement: We want the BOM items to print in the same order they appear on the BOM when we print the Traveler Report with Components.

This particular request of modification was not possible through report writer modifications. So the alternate option was to to create a custom report in dexterity having exactly the same format as this report is and handling the sorting as desired by the client.

For this I provided two options to the client.

1. Have custom report with a custom report option window.
2. Have a custom report running from GP report option window, so when user will select print , print button will launch the custom report instead of GP report.

Client's main question was if he will be able to customize the custom report in Report Writer in the future? And the Answer is yes, custom reports can be modified anytime when needed.

Once we will be able to print the components by the position number. Client requested to add three more information on the same report along with some cosmetic changes.

• Customer Number and Name from the Sales Order 
• Item Number Notes information
